Club Caller - Tom Mohney

Tom Mohney, Oil City, PA, has been an accredited member of CALLERLAB since 1978 and is currently a member of the Mainstream, Plus, Advanced and Education Committees.

Tom started dancing in 1966 and started calling in 1972. During his calling career, he has introduced new dancers to the activity every year, as well as conducted Plus and Advanced lessons/workshops. He has also participated on the staff of the Pennsylvania State Convention, the West Virgina State Convention and numerous benefit dances. Tom maintains a home club and calls regionally throughout the year.

Tom thinks Modern Western Square Dancing is a wonderful family oriented activity, which has many physical, social and educational benefits. He feels that marketing efforts are needed to reach all of those people who could enhance the square dance activity. Tom's professional expertise in education provides him with administrative and people skills, in adition to a diverse experience with cultures.

The challenge for our activity is to develop new perspectives and new directions in a changing society.
